Andrew James Tye (AJ) was born in Stirling, Perth on December 12th 1986.
Andrew Tye Cricket
AJ is a right arm fast-medium bowler and right-hand batsmen.
A late bloomer of sorts, AJ played 2nd XI cricket in England with Somerset, Durham and Northamptonshire.
Upon returning to Australia AJ started his professional career at age 26, making his debut for Western Australia in the one day domestic competition, finishing as the second leading wicket taker with 13 at 19.30. Given an opportunity by the Sydney Thunder to play in the BBL, AJ starred in the shorter format, switching to the Perth Scorchers the following season. His ability to bowl Yorkers at the death and the dreaded ‘knuckle ball’ saw him earn contracts in the IPL with the Chennai Super Kings and most recently the Gujarat Lions. AJ’s rise continued in early 2016 making his debut for Australia in the T20 format as well as being selected for the T20 World Cup Team. AJ will swap the Australian winter for the English summer, playing with Gloucestershire and will continue to push his good form and cement his place in further Australian teams.

Outside of Cricket
AJ lives in Perth, somewhat of a cricket tragic he is never far from the game and his friends around the game. AJ does however spend a lot of his time outside of the game with his other passion - playing golf.
